Please visit the Springboard... to languages site, which shows how Esperanto is currently being used in some primary schools. A study of that programme has been published: Esperanto as a starter language for child second-language learners in the primary school. You can also watch this YouTube video of a TED talk by Tim Morley, in which he describes the programme and some of his experiences.
