Our privacy policy describes how we use and store the data that we gather from you in order to provide our products and services.

Privacy notice

The Esperanto Association of Britain is a registered charity (no. 272676). This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you.

1. What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you join as a member, enrol on one of courses or place an order on our website. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

2. How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you in order to fulfil our obligations to you as a member and, if you agree, to email you about future courses and events we think may be of interest to you.

We use your information collected from the website to fulfill orders you've placed and respond to queries you raise using the contact us form.

We use your information to inform you about courses and events you've signed up for, and to monitor your progress when you sign up for one of our correspondence courses.

3. How long do we keep your information for?

We delete members’ personal data three months after your membership has lapsed. This is to allow us to remind you that your subscription is due.

Students’ details are deleted once you have completed or attended a course, unless you opt in and allow us to keep you informed of future events that may be of interest to you.

4. General information and marketing

We would like to send you information about things which we think may be of general interest and which are time-sensitive, such as the deaths of eminent Esperantists and their funeral arrangements. We would also like to send you occasional information about events and courses. If you have consented to receive marketing, you may opt out at a later date.

You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. If you no longer wish to be contacted, please either email the office eab@esperanto.org.uk, opt out using our consent form, or phone us on 0845 230 1887.

5. Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of your information then please email us, or write to us at Esperanto House, Station Road, Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent, ST12 9DE.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

6. Cookies
