I was in the early stages of learning Esperanto. I felt that I needed direct contact with a tutor and other learners as it has been a bit difficult learning alone.

If you're a beginner looking to take your first steps into Esperanto waters, EAB's weekend course Lernu is the one for you. Lernu Plu is the place to be if you already have the basics under control and want to aim a little higher, maybe answering questions in full sentences or even stringing several together.
Our courses take place at Esperanto House in Barlaston, Staffordshire. Both of our classrooms are equipped with screens, projectors and sound systems, and you'll be surrounded by over 120 years of Esperanto history and culture courtesy of the 18,000-volume Butler Library.
Age restrictions: Although the content of our courses is suitable for all, we regret that we cannot currently have under-18s participating in any of our events from Esperanto House.

Participating in the courses will cost you nothing. We'll provide you with a light lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and refreshments throughout both days. The lessons themselves are provided free of charge.
The next sessions of Lernu and Lernu Plu start at 10:00 on Saturday, September 29th. It finishes at lunchtime on Sunday, September 30th.
There is a further session of Lernu Plu following the same times on November 10th and 11th.

All our tutors are very experienced and have years of Esperanto and travel under their belts.
Lernu in September will be led by Elizabeth Stanley, whilst Harry Barron leads Lernu Plu. Ed Robertson will take the November session of Lernu Plu.
You will need to arrange your own accommodation. We recommend the Travelodge and Premier Inn, both at Trentham
We can arrange for a taxi to carry you and your fellow students between here and Esperanto House if you don't have your own transport. Travel costs are calculated and settled on the Sunday and tend to be between £5 and £8 per person. Let us know in advance if you would like us to help.
Participation costs NOTHING. If you get yourself there, you'll get tuition, a buffet lunch on both days, and refreshments throughout the course.
This does not include accommodation, travel, or food and drink costs for the Saturday evening, when we will head to a local restaurant. You'll need to pay these costs yourself.
The nearest railway station is Stoke-on-Trent, although Stafford is not much further away. Please contact us if you need help planning your journey.
If you haven't yet tried learning Esperanto, why not give the new course on Duolingo a try? Join the over one million people who have started using it since it was launched in May 2015.
You can also learn Esperanto online in English and several other languages using the most popular platform for the job, Lernu. Find tuition, exercises, exams and support forums.
Our events Lernu and Lernu Plu aren't associated with the original Lernu. We're grateful to Erin and her colleagues for allowing us to use their name for our event.
If you're under 25 and resident in the United Kingdom, then you're eligible for funding to get your costs covered (including travel and accommodation) to attend Esperanto events. Contact us prior to booking if you're interested.
