Esperanto and education
- What is Esperanto?
Esperanto is a language developed by Dr Zamenhof and first published in 1887. Zamenhof proposed it as an international, second language allowing people with different native languages to communicate effectively whilst still retaining their own languages and cultural identities.
- Why 'educate' in Esperanto?
Learn it yourself and you gain access to a network of contacts around the world; you get the benefit of a unique culture which includes thousands of publications, both translated and original - books, magazine, music and poetry; you open up endless travel opportunities and you have fun. Teach it to children and you give them an excellent introduction and insight into language learning and how grammar works - giving a solid basis for further language study.
