EAB News 2006-03-27: EAB Bookshop now accepts online orders and payments

Online Shopping at the EAB Bookshop

EAB's website has introduced an online shopping facility; site visitors can now order books, sign up for EAB membership and make donations online, paying by credit or debit card. (Members who prefer to order by post and send a cheque, or to visit the bookshop in person, are of course still welcome to continue doing that!)

The online shopping process should be familiar to anyone who has bought goods online before.

  1. Click on the [add to cart] links beside the items you want to buy; these items are added to your "shopping cart" and you can amend the quantity of each if required.
  2. When you've added all the items you want, proceed to the [Checkout]. You'll be asked to enter your name, address and an optional short message about your order. After this, click on [Proceed] and the "Order Confirmation" screen will show your order total, including the shipping charge. You can backtrack to amend your order, or...
  3. If you're happy with the order, click on [Make Payment] to go to WordPay's secure payments facility, when you select your credit/debit card type, enter your card details, and finally [Confirm] the card transaction.
After you've completed the payment, you'll receive an e-mail from the EAB shop confirming the content of your order, and a separate e-mail from WorldPay confirming your credit/debit card transaction.

For more details about the online shopping facility, and its terms and conditions, visit the EAB website's bookshop page.

The shopping cart functionality has been generously provided free-of-charge to EAB by FastCart. The secure credit/debit card online payments facility has been provided to EAB with a special "UK charities" transaction charges tariff by WorldPay, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland group.
