EAB Event 2013-03-20 to 22: Cancelled

Three-day languages event in Liverpool - Cancelled

Organisers of a three-day seminar to be held towards the end of March at the University of Liverpool regret this will not go ahead. The university discovered the event clashed with an open day which meant a lack of suitable rooms and possibly overnight accommodation for participants. It is hoped to offer the seminar, looking at aspects of Esperanto language, linguistics and literature, at a similar time next year.

Three-day languages event in Liverpool

Make a note in your diaries to explore Esperanto in Liverpool between 20 and 22 March 2013

The University of Liverpool will host the three-day event comprising seminars in linguistics, literature and the language itself. Professor Wim Jansen, from the University of Amsterdam, will lead the linguistics seminars.

The event is structured so that participants will be able to switch between the linguistics and literature strands, which will be conducted in English to target Liverpool university students and others wanting to take their first steps in discovering Esperanto language and culture.

The Esperanto seminar will suit those learning via the internet or postal courses who wish to hear and speak the language with others at their level.

The event is supported by the John Buchanan bequest and costs, including accommodation, will be kept to a minimum.

A detailed programme, as well as costs, will be available in the new year. Anyone interested in attending should contact the Esperanto centre in Barlaston to receive further information.
