How to find us

Covid-19 announcement: Esperanto House is currently off limits to visitors and purchases from the bookshop might not arrive quite as quickly as usual.

Esperanto House Our head office and bookshop are at Esperanto House, on the grounds of the former Wedgwood College (also known as Wedgwood Memorial College): click here for a map.

If approaching from Barlaston station, head east to climb Station Road and, at the top of the hill, go past the first entrance to the former Wedgwood Memorial College and the private road Coton Rise (on your left), then turn left into the driveway leading to (Estoril House and) Esperanto House.

Trains do not stop at Barlaston station but there is an infrequent bus service between Stoke and Barlaston (the journey takes about 35 minutes) or Stafford and Barlaston (about 1 hour).

If you come by taxi, do emphasise that your destination is the former Wedgwood Memorial College and not the Wedgwood Visitor Centre (as drivers sometimes confuse the two).

If travelling to the Trentham Travelodge (which people sometimes use as a base when staying in the area), First Group Potteries route 21/21A travels from Stoke to Trentham.

Opening hours

Covid-19 announcement: Esperanto House is currently off limits to visitors and purchases from the bookshop might not arrive quite as quickly as usual.

The office and bookshop are normally open 9:00 - 17:00 Monday - Friday, but we do recommend that you check in advance, to confirm the opening hours for the day you plan to visit.

EAB members can visit the Butler library by appointment; again it is worthwhile calling ahead, since the library room is sometimes booked for courses or meetings.
